Customer Reviews
I live in Minnesota but travel to Miami a lot to get on different cruises but always have to stop here and get some good food. Prices are reasonable and the food is so good!!! Trust me… if I lived in Miami I’d go there every week!!
I recently stopped by El Bajareque and it felt like discovering a hidden local gem in Wynwood. The restaurant has a simple, cozy atmosphere that feels more like a neighborhood café than a trendy Miami spot. The menu focuses on authentic Puerto Rican comfort food, and you can really taste the tradition in the dishes. I especially enjoyed the mofongo and the bacalaitos — both were flavorful, hearty, and tasted very homemade. Many of the recipes come from family traditions passed down through generations, which adds to the authenticity of the experience. What I liked most was the relaxed, local vibe. It’s not fancy at all, but the food feels genuine and comforting, like something you’d get from a family kitchen. Portions are generous and the prices are pretty reasonable for Miami. Overall,
A friend told me about this place so I went and OMG. Great food awesome flavors I live in Fort Lauderdale and every time I’m in the area I will go and treat myself. I’ve had their Mofongo Chuletas Masitas de puerco Pasteles en hoja de guineo Arroz con gandules Flan Alcapurrias All of it is excellent and wait they have THE COLDEST MEDALLA BEER AROUND.
I'm here right now with my husband and couldn't wait to give them a recommendation, we are in Miami for an event, live in Tampa, FL, but NY Ricans from the Bronx, let me tell you do yourself a favor and run here if you want a true puerto rican meal, I had the oxtail, rice, red beans and maduros, my husband had mofongo with the shrimps in creole sauce, he also had soda de mondongo, all was absolutely delicious!
I’ve tried this place twice and it always disappoints. None of the food tased authentically Puerto Rican. The menu consists mainly of typical Cuban breakfast items like toasts, coffee and oddly enough waffles. This second time I ordered lechón asado with arroz con gandulles and sweet plantains. The sweet plantains were not edible at all. They had a disgusting taste and I could tell if it was reheated from a day before or something… the arroz con gandules used non traditional rice and lacked depth or flavor. The lechón asado I ate begrudgingly because it looked like gray. I’m disappointed. You have to pay for parking.
