El Azteca - Ashland

Really enjoyed everything. Fresh chips and house salsa were spicy and tasty. Fajitas were perfect and house margaritas were refreshing. I would come back again.

Wow!!!! This place was amazing!! From the chips n salsa to the michelada! EVERYTHING was sooo delicious! We travel, and to find such a great restaurant with good atmosphere, good food, good service, good EVERYTHING, is very rare, our food came out so quickly, the waitor Heriberto, was so good to us! This was just an amazing experience, we definitely will be back when we come through again!

12/22/26. Check this monster out! Burrito Chipotle. Steak, shrimp, rice and beans on the inside. A nice helping of chorizo on the outside. Delicious. What!!!? $10.99. Yeah! It’s not hard to figure out why Ismael and his staff continue to position El Azteca as the top Mexican restaurant from Doswell down to Glen Allen. His staff is well above average… they hustle… remember those days? It’s refreshing. Decor could use an upgrade. I am told that it is already being planned. The combo food was very bad. We ordered the grilled shrimp taco. It was extremely bland for a Mexican restaurant. And when we said that to the server he just shrugged it off. The complimentary nachos and dip were the only dish we actually enjoyed. Then there was an error in the bill and the server argued over it when we were not wrong.
