Effoi Restaurant

I had the pleasure of dining at Effoi Restaurant in Maryland on three separate occasions, and each visit was truly exceptional. The service was warm and attentive, making every meal feel special. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully crafted, a perfect blend of authentic Ethiopian flavors and creative presentation. The friendly ambiance added to the charm, making it an inviting place to relax and enjoy. The highlight for me was the traditional Ethiopian coffee, freshly brewed in-house to perfection; rich, aromatic, and the ideal way to end a meal. A five-star experience all around!

10/10 experience! I'm fairly new to Ethiopian food so this was one of the first places I trued. I LOVE it! The food is amazing, it's fresh, and the ambiance is very welcoming. Everyone was kind when I went and they give you a lot of food. I came here for the first time on a Friday and came right back on Sunday. On Friday Ella was my waitress and she was very kind and attentive. She explained some of the food items and made sure we had everything we needed. I had the veggie combo and doro wot. Both were great! The second time I went I ordered the veggie combo again.

Overall a fantastic experience for my birthday! The food was exceptional. As a vegan, Ethiopian food is always a great choice but Effoi surprised me with additional atypical dishes like the sunflower dish callef Suf! We got the special veggie combo and honestly it is more than enough for two people!

This was my ever first experience with Ethiopian food, and I will say my meal was DELICIOUS! My server was welcoming and explained the menu well. I got the azawe tibs and the injera bread. It was so so good, 5 stars. The dish did take a while to prepare (about 30-35 minutes from when I ordered to when it was served), but it was wholeheartedly worth it!

I come here whenever I pass through Silver Spring and have no interest in trying any other restaurant. The vegetarian sampler is delicious and the staff are always so kind and clearly proud of the restaurant and their imported authentic Ethiopian ingredients. This is the only restaurant I've ever been to that has vegetarian collard greens and they're so good. Most places the misir wot is my favorite but the shiro here is SO GOOD. We happened to be the first customers of the day this time and got to enjoy the smell of fresh roasted coffee beans right near out table
