Eddy’s Chinese & American in Colfax was soo delicious. Every bite was packed with flavor and tasted fresh and well-made, not greasy or rushed like a lot of places. The food came out hot, portions were generous, and everything was cooked just right. What really makes this place special is the history they’ve been serving the Colfax community for 44 years, and you don’t last that long unless you’re doing something right. You can feel the consistency, care, and experience in the food. It’s a true local staple and the kind of place people grow up eating at. Whether you’re craving Chinese or American food, Eddy’s delivers comfort food that hits every time. Easily one of the best spots in Colfax. I’ll definitely keep coming back.
Eddy’s is a restaurant which is primarily Chinese with one page of American food. I believe it is the only Chinese restaurant in Colfax, but unfortunately it’s not as good as I had hoped. I was disappointed that the chop suey had very little in the way of fresh vegetables in it, and was predominantly, canned mushrooms and water chestnuts. The onions were fresh, and I believe the celery may have also been fresh, but I was hoping for more vegetables than this, like bamboo shoots, bean, sprouts, pea pods, etc. The menu on the page of American entrées looked pretty good, but I haven’t tried anything from it yet. The atmosphere inside feels sort of like a kitschy Chinese from the 1970s, which was sort of interesting. I think that it may be hard to get fresh vegetables here and that’s why they d
1st off, I'm very picky about Chinese food and am very wary of places that advertise that they do Chinese & (fill in the blank). The places I loved in Seattle are long gone (China Village, Panda's, Yak's, etc) but they shaped my preferences and tastes. That said, living on this side (near Spokane), it's hard to find noodles that I appease me. Also, our situation was kind of unique and the staff/owner/family were accommodating to us. We went at off-hours so the place was empty. Parking in the back is kind of a pain but doable. (this was my 1st time in Colfax) We ordered an odd variety; we also phoned in the order on the drive and kinda went in blind. Pictures are of the chicken lo mein (soft noodle. I believe regular chow mein, here, uses those crunchy noodle thingys) and their home made
Arrived at 7 pm on a Friday night, one other table was seated. All the staff were hanging by the kitchen, one did come out to direct us toward a table. He was courteous. We wanted to try the egg rolls, he informed us that there was only one left, so we got that. It was fair. We also Pot Stickers, they make in house, those were pretty good. It was a long wait for him to come back to the table to take a meal order. I stood up a couple times to get someone's attention, that was annoying, since we were the only other party there. We ordered Mongolian Beef - good flavor, light on beef however, Eddies Special Fried Rice - good flavor, what you would expect from a Chinese American restaurant, comparable to Safeway China Express or Panda Express, and finally Chicken and Vegetables as a sugg
I haven't been to Eddy's in 15 years and was in the area, so I stopped in for lunch. I was the only one in the place at 2:15 pm, but soon after other customers showed up. There was a short wait on the food which is normal since you are getting fresh hot food. I tried the sweet and sour pork, almond chicken, chow mien and egg roll. The portions were more than I could eat in one setting, so expect some take home. The restaurant was very clean and organized, the restroom being A+ for cleanliness. Cyrus Fairley Spokane WA
