Very old school deli that been around for eons,since I was a kid growing up in the 70s and 80s this store always been around in its original decor.Their sandwiches and bacon egg and cheese is the absolute best and they take the time to make it exactly the way you really want it,everything there is made fresh and tasty.The girl that works behind the counter is a sweetheart,forever cheery ,very prompt and helpful.She's very personable with her customers.This is definitely the reason why we should continue to support our local longstanding mom and pop business,if you go to a chain like Dunkin Donuts you will not get as good service and definitely not good quality food.

My husband loves their pastrami sandwiches and egg salad. If you can't get to Katz, go here. I tried their chicken cutlet sandwich, and I was not disappointed. Soooooo good The people are pleasant. I recommend.

Eddie's Delicatessen at 3165 Bainbridge Avenue between 206th and 207th Streets, the oldest business in the neighborhood, opened about 1948 and still very much like an old-time NYC deli. Inside it still looks like 1940s or 50s; there's a single booth on the left as you walk in that has that postwar formica look. Also the fact that it has "kosher" in its name hearkens back to a time when this part of the Bronx had a significant Jewish population. The population has changed over and over since then but Eddie's survives with traditional NYC deli fare like fresh bagels every morning, knishes, latkes, etc, plus hot food like home-made soup, beef stew, and chili, and of course the requisite pastrami, corned beef, and brisket.
