I absolutely loveeee okra soup and eat it all the time at my favorite restaurant in Connecticut (CT). Since I moved to Brooklyn I wanted a good place to go to so I was recommended by the African restaurant worker I go to in CT to come here. Finally made the time to go and food tasted great but portion size for the price is a joke. I believe the okra soup was 18$ with meat. As you can see from the photo, it was maybe a pot spoon amount of okra and the meat came with a bunch of oil on the top (I used two forks to show the amount/depth of food they gave me). I had high expectations just because of the recommendation but I will not be returning to get only a pot spoon of food for almost 20$. I’ll gladly wait when I have time to go back to CT or make it myself! On a positive-ish note, the pepp
I saw some negative reviews, and the restaurant responded by saying, “God will reward.” Let’s be clear—customers don’t come from God. They come from good service, good food, and a solid reputation. I ordered over $100 worth of food, but what was delivered was so tiny that I felt embarrassed, especially since I had a guest that day. To make things worse, after placing my order, they called to ask for an additional $2 for goat meat—this was after I’d already spent over $100. Yes, I do plan to visit the restaurant and share my experience with them directly. In the restaurant business, good customer service and good food are essential. Relying on “God will reward” as a response to poor customer experiences, which cost people money and time, is not just unprofessional but also quite foolish
After waiting 20 mins for my order, I went to the counter and they had forgotten my order. I should've left but I really wanted to try African food. Waited another 30 mins. and started eating some crackers when the food finally came out but I wasn't hungry anymore. Paid $15 for yam and chicken. Went back to the office and the yams were okay but the chicken...the chicken was soo rubbery that I couldn't take a bite and the knife couldn't even cut it. Like is this even chicken? So I paid $15 for yams (which i would just buy at the store for $3) and rubber chicken. I would pay that for quality food but not for what I was served. Will never go here again and can't say that I would ever recommend anyone to eat here. Hours later and I'm still upset because I'm hungry and wasted my money. If rub
