East Fishkill Highway Department

Kenneth saved my life! Sunday, 22 February 2026. Around 8pm my car spun out of control and finally halted to a stop into a snow bank! Triple “A” refused to even send anyone. So I had to call local emergency for help. A few minutes had passed when an East Fishkill police officer arrived then he called for Kenneth W., Highway Superintendent, from East Fishkill Highway Department! Kenneth, with precision and urgency plowed then shoveled, manually by himself, my vehicle out of the snow bank! He then went on to instruct me on how to maneuver to finally get my vehicle back on the road. Overall, Kenneth plowed, sanded and salted me all the way back home ensuring my safety along the way. He was so kind and generous with his time and expertise! Thank you Kenneth for all that you did and do!!💕💕🙏

The highway department are doing a great job on the paving of the road around hillside Lake. But they made the abutment in my driveway so sharp an angle that I can't get the car out of my driveway without scraping the whole underside of my car. Please help. I tried to catch the workers today but they were not on the other side of the Lake. I called the highway department but you can't leave a message 617 South Hillside rd. Right next to the beach. Big shout out to our highway department. They are short staffed today due to the holiday but they have been out cleaning these roads all morning. Thank you for keeping us safe!

This morning I couldn't get out of my driveway from Loose strife Dr. because they had plowed the snow in front of my driveway. As a result I had to take a day off work. It took me more than two hours to clear the blocks of ice in front of my driveway and in the process threw my back. PLEASE either don't plow or do it right.
