Dunderbak's Market Cafe

I love this little corner! Autumn, the waiter, was so patient and accommodating to me. I get something new each time I come because of how diverse and hearty the menu is. So much care has been given to the setup of trinkets and flags lining the walls that it reflects the over 40 years of service and love this place has. It's warm and comfortable, and the food adds to the coziness. There's a lot of delicious meat on the menu, but they have many vegetarian and gluten sensitive options clearly marked. If you're looking to get away from the overstimulation from shopping, stop by here. Don't forget dessert!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3.5–4 Star Experience at Dunderbak’s Market Café After exploring the Bethlehem Christmas Market, my wife and I were craving some German comfort food, so we decided to stop in at Dunderbak’s Market Café. It’s a unique little spot tucked inside a shopping mall—not a standalone restaurant—but still has a neat kind of vibe once you step inside. The staff was super friendly, and the menu was much broader than expected. While it’s described as German-American cuisine, you’ll find everything from kielbasa and pierogies to quesadillas and even a Bavarian Angus beef burger. Definitely a blended menu with something for everyone. My wife enjoyed all of her food, and mine was a bit of a mixed experience. Dunderbak’s Market Café is easily the best restaurant in the Lehigh Valley Mall. The food tastes fresh and authentic, and the servers are genuinely attentive, going out of their way to make us feel at home. You can truly tell there’s love in both the food and the people who work there. They went above and beyond to help us navigate the menu for gluten-free options, which was such a stress reliever. My wife had the goulash and I had the Munich Wurst & Pasta, both were absolutely delicious.

I’ve been eating at Dunderbak’s since my parents moved to PA in 1995. When I moved away 19 years ago, I always make it a point to stop and walk the Lehigh Valley Mall and grab a kraut dog. There is nothing like it. If you stop to shop at the Lehigh Valley Mall, a hot dog at Dunderbak’s is a must.

Both the service and the food were amazing. I got the Jager Schnitzel and it was fried to perfection, and their gravy is delicious. Damn near lick-the-plate worthy. Our server was also very friendly and attentive, couldn’t have asked for more.
