Waiting time: 0 min, walk in at dinner First dish: 7 min Soup Dumplings (Xiao Long Bao) Taste & flavor: Lightly seasoned broth, clean and gentle, closer to Taiwanese style rather than the heavier Shanghai profile. Easy to enjoy without overwhelming richness. Texture: Wrapper was thin and delicate. The filling was slightly firmer than expected, possibly from finely ground pork or a bit of overcooking. Temperature: Not overly hot, which makes it approachable for everyone. Kids still need to break the skin and let the soup cool. Portion & presentation: Standard basket, neatly pleated, visually appealing. Beef with Long Horn Peppers Taste & flavor: Fresh long horn peppers brought a medium to high heat with a bright vegetal bite. The beef paired well with the spice. Balance: I wished for

I went here hoping for a good vegetarian-friendly meal, especially given the number of tofu options on the menu, but the overall experience was very disappointing. We ordered vegetable lo mein, chili deep-fried soft tofu, and vegetable & mushroom bao buns. The lo mein was mediocre at best, and the tofu added to it felt oddly fried and thrown on top, completely out of place. The standalone chili tofu was decent, but unfortunately the bao buns were terrible — poor texture and flavor, and honestly hard to eat. Shortly after the meal, I felt sick and ended up throwing up. I can’t say exactly what caused it, but the oil smelled strange and the overall food quality felt low and off-putting. Service-wise, we also had an uncomfortable experience. We signed the receipt and wanted to leave extra cas

We came here because the menu made it seem vegetarian-friendly, especially with several tofu options, but the reality was extremely disappointing. The vegetable lo mein was bland and poorly constructed, with oddly fried tofu added on top as if it didn’t belong in the dish at all. The chili soft tofu was tolerable, but the vegetable and mushroom bao buns were outright bad — heavy, unbalanced, and unpleasant to eat. Shortly after the meal, my fiancée became sick and vomited. While we can’t say with certainty what caused it, the food — particularly the oil — had an off smell, and the overall quality raised serious concerns. What truly crossed the line, however, was the service. After signing the receipt, we planned to leave additional cash as a tip. Instead, someone came back to tell us we we

Solid suburban Chinese restaurant with a big variety of dumplings and other authentic dishes.

Dumpling House is a great hidden gem in a little strip mall on Walnut street in Newton. There was plenty of parking. Restaurant appeared very clean. Staff was friendly. The menu is huge. Mostly authentic Chinese dishes. Not your typical American style Chinese food. The food tasted extremely fresh and full of flavor. I started with a small hot and sour soup with shredded pork. It was large enough for two people. Very traditionally prepared with wood ear mushrooms, golden needles, tofu, pork, scallions. It had a very nice complex flavor with a big kick that would clear out anyone's sinuses. Soup was delicious! My first appetizer was the jellyfish with garlic. This was like a salad with the jellyfish cut in thin strips with a solid but not chewy texture. The dish also had cucumbers, carrots,
