Ate one bite. Asked for my bill and left. I was super hungry and it wasn't even worth the calorie intake. Tasted like a ball of slimy flour. The sauce was the consistency of wall paint. Literally zero flavor. Best part was the server didnt even ask me if I wanted a box or question if everything was OK. Wasn't even worth having a conversation about it from my point of view. Ill just leave a review so the next person doesnt get taken advantage of. Week old, left over panda express would be a better bet.
Everything is so good! Service is fast and food comes out quickly. We got cucumber salad, pan seared wontons and the mini juicy buns with pork, sooooo good. We came back twice in a week.
Been on a chinese comfort food / dumpling spree for the last few weeks, and had somewhat high expectations for this seemingly authentic place based on reviews for "terrible service but great food." Easy to get in on a Thursday night, and food came quick. I was hungry enough to order enough food to feed 4, but I struggled to eat a single portion's worth. All the items we got just seemed a little off. My stirfry rice cake was too soft, and had a weird salty aftertaste. The XLB were big and generous, but something about the flavor made it seem too overwhelming to gulp down multiple in a row. The fried dumplings were yummy on th first bite, but also seemed too much afterwards. My husband's Taiwanese noodle soup was not the beef kind as expected, but a bland version of ramen with noodles that
3.5 stars - not bad but not great I got takeout from here because they were having a buy one get one free deal on almost everything on the menu and scally and pancakes have gotten so expensive it's mind-blowing. The ingredients for them cost like a cent and people are charging $12 for one order it's wild!!!!!! Anyway we used to make scallion pancakes at home so I know very well the most important part of scallion pancakes is the flakiness. Well. The scallion pancakes they served had zero flakiness whatsoever. I do not think they laminated the dough at all (created a bunch of layers similar to a croissant) and they just made the dough and spread it out and fried it. It was one solid piece with legitimately not one single flake. The flavor of the dough was not bad and I also got the scall
I've been eating here for 12 years and keep coming back. Food is always good, service has improved and they are alert to help, food comes out quick. Try the eggplant- unusual thick sauce a little spice, very smooth. Dumplings and scallion pancakes are great and the atmosphere is just good not fancy-nice view of washington st.. Chopsticks a little chunky. Seafood seems authentic.I'll be back.
