Recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint. We had to stand outside and order our food at a window and pick it up at the side window. The person taking order was not very helpful with the menu and kind of rushed us but it was a line so I chucked it up to that. We ordered the meatloaf dinner with Mac and cheese and yams and my husband got collars and Mac and cheese along with sweet tea. I dont eat everyone's meatloaf but was craving it and I am soooo happy I did. It was some of the best meatloaf I have eaten. The yams were delicious as well and my fav side. They gave a lot of food and had leftovers for the following day and more. The tea was amazing as well but my husband did say it was mixed with lemonade so wasn't real tea but was delicious. Hidden gem and will make sure to visit
The food was so good, It was seasoned and fresh. Like so good the price didn’t bother me. I had fried fish, candy, yams dressing, fried chicken, collard greens with cabbage, mac & cheese, cornbread, and peach cobbler. Everything had flavor!
Friend and I went for lunch, wanting homestyle flavor, I ordered meatloaf, collard greens, cornbread dressing. The meatloaf seemed to be made with some type of soy mixed with the ground beef. I cannot describe the texture except that it was thick and processed as from a vacuum sealed package, no flavor whatsoever. The greens were cooked well, perhaps canned, but again zero flavor. The dressing was from a box as well. For $20 the portions were acceptable, but overall I wouldn't recommend this spot. We went to the one on Century near Western. We ate outside. Aa the weather permitted.
So we're here to honor my grandfather and celebrate his life. The Honorable Judge Albert D Mathews of. Los Angeles, CA. Being a resident of Stillwater, Oklahoma I was in need of some good Soul Food. Oklahoma can't do it. I'm sorry to disturb anyone that thinks different. I haven't found anything yet that passed my taste buds test. Anyhow, We had large crowd to feed after the wake. This spot accommodated us. The staff were patient, helpful, and very polite. Several things stood out . They had fish on the menu. I don't eat catfish or tilapia. So whenever I inquired about what kind of fish , the guy said it's Swai . Cool. It was hot and seasoned to perfection. This was big for me. Also, The drink on the menu called Tiger Woods which is soulful remix of The Arnold Palmer - Lemonade and Tea Mi
I only order take out from here but the food is always fresh and they give you good portions. Great comfort food.
