Dukagjini Burek

Great spot for authentic Albanian burek. Food was great, immediately out the oven and the price is great. My Albanian friend took us all the way here from Manhattan specifically to try the best burek he knows and grew up eating.

Randomly walked in outta curiosity...i got two slice. 1 spinach & cheese & 1 meat. $6.75 each It was really really good😍😌

Of all the burek spots in New York, Dukagjini’s is the absolute best. We usually get the spinach and meat pies, and the cheese pie is just as delicious! The people who make the bureks do so with care and consistency - every burek we have is always as amazing as the last. Strongly recommend getting a small cup of yogurt to pair with your burek, especially if you get the meat pie! This is my husband’s favorite combo. Staff is friendly and make you feel like you’re at home. You can tell that this burek is special and is the only one that tastes authentic. Always stop here if you’re in the Bronx. Pite me mish (meat pie) is unreal.

The spinach and cheese burek is extraordinary. When it comes fresh out of the oven, its a explosion of flavor and warmth. We also had the cheese burek - also tasty but perhaps not as much as the spinach and cheese one. The place has a limited menu (including homemade yogurt) but each item on the menu is super delicious. The folks at the counter are very kind and friendly. If you are ever in the area visiting the Bronx zoo or the Botanical gardens, this is definitely the place to grab dinner. The place is tiny with around 5 tables and very bare-bones decor, but the bureks are worth it. They are $5 each. A whole burek pie costs $20.
