Dr's Inn of Galax

The Doctor’s Inn accommodated us when our Airbnb fell through. They welcomed us and gave us a tour of the beautiful inn and we decided to stay two nights in the green room downstairs. I love the feel of the place in its age and the ornate original wallpaper. Wonderful natural light and a large bathtub were very appreciated. It is very close to the Old Fiddlers Convention if you make a trip! Breakfast both days was delicious and we got to play with Henry, the mini Aussie who is very friendly and cute. The hosts were very kind and hospitable and we will definitely be coming back! Definitely worth staying here if you enjoy getting away somewhere very nice and visually pleasing!

The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. They gave us excellent recommendations for where to eat and entertaining stories about the history of them home and town. The Inn is beautiful! We loved our room and will definitely be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Dr's Inn in Galax VA - a great option if you're touring the Blue Ridge Parkway region. The owners (Shihua and Dave, who reopened the Inn in the fall of 2022 after doing a total makeover) are super hosts, the rooms are beautiful (but specify that you want a private bathroom if that’s important to you), the rates are reasonable, and the included breakfast is an excellent way to start the day. (There are lots of options on the menu but you should try Dave’s German potato pancakes). |5 minutes to Downtown Galax, 10 minutes to Blue Ridge Parkway, 17 minutes to Blue Ridge Music Center, 50 minutes to Floyd (and the famous Floyd County Store).

We enjoyed a delightful 2 night stay here recently. The house is gorgeous and beautifully but comfortably furnished with antiques. The wide front porch has comfortable chairs/sofas and a swing, perfect for sitting and watching the world go by. Our room was lovely and nicely furnished with lots of thoughtful touches, and the private bath was modern, large, and had lots of counter space. Margo, the innkeeper, is a wonderful cook and whipped up delicious breakfasts. She was extremely helpful and pointed us to nearby attractions and good restaurants. This inn is gracious Southern hospitality at its finest and I heartily recommend it.

The owners couldn't be nicer people. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights at the inn, the breakfasts where incredible and the antique house is absolutely beautiful. Galax is a quaint, peaceful town - a perfect place to relax.
