Driftwood Diner

Wonderful food! They even got me the Meatloaf Special at 10 in the morning! It was delicious and I have enough for supper too! At $12 including a cup of soup, I'd say that's a great deal! Husband had the Wrapped Hog and OH MY! Four sausage links wrapped in a pancake with two eggs also for $12! The only two things I will complain about is #1 - The bathroom was chilly because the heater wasn't plugged in. And #2- The place is right on the river but there's no view. Overall...10 out of 10!!

The food was good and the prices were fair. I have eaten there several times and each time the service was friendly and fast. We usually go early morning on Saturday and generally the atmosphere is quiet. Quaint little place that reminds me of a Ma and Pa shop. If you're in the area I would recommend trying this place.

I ate here with my mother and two brother's on the 4th of July and it was wonderful. We were heading down to Maquoketa Caves and stopped in Guttenberg for a break and came across this diner at the riverside with these large wooden doors for the entrance. The atmosphere even just walking in was great. We were seated and had our orders taken almost immediately and were checked up on multiple times throughout our dining experience. The food was delicious and they had a special going on where you could get as many toppings on a sandwich or burger as you wanted, though I unfortunately had to skip out on their sweet potato fries that they just introduced due to having to sit in the car for another couple hours after eating. Incredible burgers. Staff is all super kind. Wife and I have come here twice and both times the burgers were freaking amazing. Best Burger I've been able to find in Iowa. We plan to come here any chance we get when we come visit from Iowa City

Clean and very friendly. Inexpensive food with good portions.
