Downtown Sandwich & Ice Cream

The location is good. The staff was friendly. I had a fish taco and cheese curds. It was typical fried food. I don't know why food was served on paper or wrapped in foil. There is something unappetizing about setting food on a table that likely doesn't get sanitized. Plates are not an added expense so I suggest using them. I glanced in the kitchen. I cannot say whether it was clean but it definitely is rundown. This place needs a renovation badly.

The location is right across the street from the bay so you can enjoy looking at there water from a booth. For a Saturday evening pretty steady and the ice cream had a steady flow of customers. They only take cash or check which caught me off guard a bit. I ordered the turkey melt and they prepared it pretty quickly. The large was enough for 2 people. If you are in town I would recommend it.

Cute place. Cash/Check only. One of the only restaurants in this part of town open on a Monday, so it was busy but the food came up quickly and service was friendly. They have a variety of choices of the buy and fry type. I appreciated the smaller sides at a reasonable price, so we could try more than one. The half naked cheese curds were my favorite. The bread for the sandwiches was yummy. I would have preferred if my whole meatball sandwich had been toasted, not just the bread itself.

Reasonable prices for the portion size. Good selection of different icecream flavors. Staff is always courteous. It's a good place to stop for lunch or a quick bite. They only accept cash or personal check, there is an ATM inside with a $2.50 charge.

I remember this place as a great place a few years ago, now it is a reminder of why businesses like this go out of business. Hours are rediculous, quality has fallen, the refusal of accepting debit cards is insulting to the customer. They will tell you there is an ATM available, but why should I have to pay a 3 dollar atm fee to pay for my meal instead of the merchant paying 40 cents to process a transaction. Antiquated and poor business model. Also very insulting to the patron. It is almost 2026 not 1926.
