Downingtown Library

Great library with a lot of activities in the Downingtown area. The parking lot is huge and has a park with a play area as well. The summer reading program and reading Olympics books are plus for kids. There are volunteer opportunities for kids. They have small play area within library for you ger kids. The computers are available to look up and place books on hold are cool. The staff working here is very friendly. It might not contain all the books you are looking for but still a great small library !!

I passed it at first on the Main Street. It looks more like a Library from the back. Yes, like most reviews have said, the big easily accessible parking lot is appreciated even though li early itself is not very big. It is a cutie library, very family friendly, with vocal children throughout and Plenty of tables for studying. This Library also seems pretty active for the community, hosting lots of great events and activities for all.

Downingtown library is excellent for children, especially young kids. There are a lot of good toys and a large children's section for the overall size of the library. The selection of adult fiction is limited, but you can easily request books from other CCLS libraries and pick them up at this location. For an adult wanting a large, quiet work area or to browse for books for themselves, I would recommend traveling to the large Exton location instead, but this is a great little local library.

We love this library because it’s close to home, its size is easy to manage with a child, easy parking and a great park nearby. Unfortunately, this library is my last choice due to its rude staff. You would think a library that is always full of happy children, would come with pleasant librarians to match but that just isn’t the case. On countless occasions, I have been dumbfounded with the customer service at the library. Just this week, we were turned away from baby story time Because we did not “register” and it was “full” even though there was ample seating available and plenty of room for more. Could you imagine turning a child away from storytime? This week we went to the West Chester library storytime and it was the complete opposite experience. It went from outside to inside due to

The staff at Downingtown Library are rude and unprofessional, but the female with dark hair and a green water bottle stands out as the absolute worst. She walks around like she resents having to acknowledge anyone—expressionless, hostile, and completely checked out. Honestly, it should be called the Downingtown Rude Staff Library—sponsored by Jasmine, the director who clearly sets the tone.
