Down On Mainstreet

I was visiting my parents from out-of-state and they recommended coming here. Our waitress was a bit slow in checking up on us and getting our check, but she was very nice and answered all of our questions, and noted my nut allergy as well. Everything was DELICIOUS! The fried green tomatoes were something my boyfriend and I had to get the second we saw it on the menu. They did not disappoint! For my entree, I wasn’t going to get fish originally, but I had to since I was told it supports local fishermen. My salmon was FANTASTIC and I loved the citrus seasoning on it. My sides were also fantastic too.

DOM is a regular stop for me when family or friends come from out of town. The crab and shrimp dip and spinach dip are a go to. The Mainstreet club is great for lunch. The Nauti Philly another great lunch option. The sweet potato chips are unmatched. Brought my friends for dinner Saturday. Wait was about 15 minutes it was really busy. One friend had a burger, one had the catch of the day - flounder. He said it was so good. The fried okra were perfect, the three of us got them. My daughter got the chicken Alfredo pasta with sweet potato chips, because why not?! I got the sirloin with mashed potatoes and those okra. We walked Main Street, stopped and looked at menus, and see the atmosphere of various eateries on the street. Down on Mainstreet had an awesome variety of food and the place was busy - looked like the place to be. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food came out quickly. We all enjoyed each of our meals. Here is a picture of the taco salad, minus a few ingredients. This salad is massive, but it’s delicious and filling!

Bustling place that many locals say is their favorite. My server was excellent. She was very accommodating for a severely basic meal. I had the taco salad bowl and the taco bowl was the best part of the meal even though it was very soggy at the bottom even though there was no sauce on the bottom of the tortilla. They initially forgot to include the chicken that I ordered to go on my salad. The “seasoned chicken” was plain boiled shredded chicken with lots of paprika and cumin sprinkled on the top. The seasoning was not even mixed into the chicken. It was like an after thought. They also forgot the sour cream. The balsamic dressing I asked for was plain balsamic vinegar. I asked to replace it with raspberry vinaigrette but it looked like syrup when they brought it out. In the end, I just at

Thought the food was good service excellent. Overall great experience. Yes it is a bit loud but it has wood floors and high ceilings in this historic building. Had the catch of the day grouper.
