Children’s outdoor story programs are very nice. Kids can sing, dance and touch the natural. Children’s room is also great. They have puppet show station, open kitchen, different topic of the month(this month is dinosaurs, they have dinosaur fossils). Highly recommend for kids. For adults, they have 3D printer, not sure can we use it or not, and fancy audio equipments.
Nice, cozy library. You can check out tons of tech, such as e-readers, night vision goggles, kitchen appliances, and much more. As well as books, of course. They also have free coffee. My favorite library in the area if I want to relax and read for a couple of hours.
Dover seems like a great library for the community! They had a puzzle available for anyone to work on, couches, and a kureig for coffee and tea, all by the entrance. Nearby was a partitioned area with comfy chairs around a tv (possibly for movies, etc?). There were more single/double seating areas around the room. The chairs were very comfortable. They have desks partitioned off for tutoring and such. I think the childrens section is on the lower floor, so even with someone tutoring and people talking with the librarians, it's definitely quieter than reading in a cafe. Their "Library of Things" is also filled with interesting and useful things!
The Dover Town Library is a hidden gem between Needham and Wellesley — quiet, charming, and filled with heart. The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming, and the space itself is bright, clean, and peaceful. One of the highlights for families is Tuesday Storytime. It’s not just reading: they do about 30 minutes of stories followed by 30 minutes of hands-on activity time. They set up five or six stations with themed activities at little tables, and kids rotate between them. It’s so well thought out — fun, educational, and engaging. The only concern is the limited space: tickets go fast. The library opens at 10 a.m., and if I arrive at 10:07 or 10:10, there are usually just one or two tickets left. So if you want a spot, definitely go early! Whether you’re looking for a calm place to read
The best library ever full of activities for kids and adults excellent customer service from all their friendly staff. My kids love to visit and is always something new going on.
