Customer Reviews
This is a serviceable tasty old-fashioned donut… as good as comparable fancy donut shops, such as Do-Rite, VooDoo, and Stan’s. Do not come expecting anything out of this world. Great service. Its worth it if you’re in the area early in the morning, but I wouldn’t say it’s worth a long commute the catch them before they sell out.
It is a Chicago must. Huge, yummy doughnuts. It is small so when busy line is outside and everything is to go but we'll worth it.
Nice little shop for donuts. Ordered a few and they were overall pretty good. One star off as the apple fritter left a lot to be desired. No apple chunks and honestly much more stale than the others. The almond was the star of the show. The triple chocolate and the birthday cake were good overall. The strawberry filled chocolate heart was good. I'd come back for the almond donut alone. Hope to visit again for some other daily specials.
This unpretentious shop might be easy to miss, but its doughnuts certainly aren't. They offer a bold taste at a very fair price. A huge presence in your mouth. Simply the best.
The Best Old Fashioned Doughnuts are from the Doughnut Vault! I planned an early morning walk to the Doughnut Vault and picked up every Old Fashioned flavor they had that morning and brought it back to our apartment. My friends who were visiting with me helped me sample each one and voted which was their favorite. It was a great sugary start to our morning and we all agreed these were the best old fashioned doughnuts we’ve had. My personal favorite was the Classic Buttermilk but the Pistachio was a very closed second. Each piece of doughnut was soft and melted in my mouth. The flavors were really good and I found the Lemon Poppy Seed, Almond and Champagne the most sweet. The almond flavor reminded me of marzipan and the triple chocolate was rich & decadent. But the buttermilk won me over w
