Dosa House Ridgewood

A great addition for South Indian food lovers. Authentic flavors, well-balanced spices, and very fresh ingredients. The idli, vada , rasam and pongal were spot on. Good quality food and great service. Highly recommended!

We visited this new restaurant on second day post opening with high expectations given we don't have quality south indian dosa restaurants around town. The ambience is good, the food is priced reasonably well. The reason for the 3 stars was that the dosa wasn't served hot and when I mentioned it , I was told there's AC in the kitchen so it became cold. Rule one of serving dosa or most Indian food is it has to be hot. The waiter did replace the dosa but the second time around, the dosa wasn't 'paper' dosa anymore but like a plain dosa which isn't crisp.

Excellent food, finally a proper south indian food joint in bergen county with a great dine in experience! Must try the pongal, medu vada, the rasam is absolutely unbelievable.. and the dosa delicious!

I was exited to visit this place as this was the first dosa place in town but was disappointed. The Sambar was watery and served cold, it felt like they added water to sambar to increase the quantity, left it out for hours and served without warning it up. Gobi Manchurian didn’t seem fresh and was rubbery, hard to chew. The server who mentioned was a Pakistani chef, seemed to be boasting about how busy the restaurant was since opening whereas there was rarely anyone there on a Saturday night. This is what made me question the integrity of restaurant and staff and a bit worried about the quality of food I consumed.

What an inaugural buffet lunch! Great start for a very fine south Indian vegetarian cuisine restaurant in Ridgewood.
