Donut King

I purchased a dozen mixed donuts. Since there were no old-fashioned (my husband's favorite), I chose the buttermilk, which has a similar taste. I also got a ham, cheese, and jalapeño croissant, which tasted great, but was mostly bread with not much of the ham mixture, unfortunately. My husband, however, disagreed as to the amount of ham. He said that there was a good amount, but it was all in one pile within the croissant. So, I stand corrected and am very happy that he enjoyed his croissant! Also, I heated the buttermilk donut slightly, and he really enjoyed that one, too! I've been trying various donut shops in a widening circle from the Garden District and found these to be good, not my favorite, but still good! Really glad, I stopped in, on a Saturday Morning. They had a nice selection, at around 8 AM. I ordered half a dozen and two egg and cheese croissants. Tasty croissants, and delicious doughnuts.

Excellent ham & cheese croissants!!!! I was very impressed & it’s also HUGE! One of the biggest I’ve seen. It was light & flaky… everything you could ever hope for in a croissant! The donuts were decent. Nothing that totally blew me away but that croissant made up for the donuts shortcomings… and then some!!! Side note : To be fair… when I got there around 10am there weren’t too many donuts left so I settled for a lemon filled as opposed to my usual favorite… so it’s quite possible that if I showed up earlier that I’d have a different take on the donut portion of this review. I still give it the 5 out of 5 stars! It was a wonderful experience! Thank you Kings Donuts! It was great!

Neighborhood favorite, awesome owner and staff, always a grat idea for morning snack or anytime really.
