Don Julio's Mexican Restaurant & Cantina

Stopped here while traveling several times and it is always pretty good. If Im being honest, it's not the best Mexican restaurant, but not bad. I have always gotten good service and have tried several different dishes here, and each were not bad. The building is dated but you have to overlook that. Again, the service has always been good and the food has always been hot. I will eat here again when traveling in this area. I'm not a truck driver but if I was It would be a perfect spot; because, they have truck parking all around.

I remember the food here being excellent. But I had not been here in a few years. I returned today to an expanded menu and tried some of the items I had not tried before and I was definitely not disappointed. The food is as good if not better as I remember as is the service.

This place is a little gem in Adel. I went 2 nights in a row while in Adel. It's one of my favorite Mexican restaurants I've ever visited. Perfect salsa. I love salsa that's smooth and not chunky and not loaded with cilantro either. It was one of the best salsas I've ever had as well. Tried multiple items here, and I recommend them all. Refried beans, queso dip, guacamole, chorizo, etc. Delicious. All of it. Cold beer on draft, too. It doesn't get much better than this restaurant! Do yourself a huge favor. If you've never been, it's a must go. You'll be extremely pleased. Great service, too!

We go every week or weekend, Pablo has always treated us so amazing! Our boy loves him so much and has became best friends with him. But not only does this place have amazing service but the food is on point! We enjoy coming in! Everyone is so friendly. I highly recommend Pablo as your waiter!
