Don Juan's Mexican Restaurant

Food was generally good although some of the dishes were a bit bland for normal Texas Mexican food expectations. We were a party of 12 and seating was adequate, although the solid wooden chairs were a bit hard. Our waitress was good but I thought that the kitchen was a bit slow. Prices were reasonable and there was plenty of available seating which seems normal for a Monday night. Ours was a birthday celebration and a good time was had by all.

Dropped in for lunch with a friend yesterday, I was there one other time a couple years ago. The service was really good, we were seated right away ordered food it came quickly and tasted delicious. Very fresh and healthy portions considering I ordered off lunch menu. Service was great and friendly. Loved the green salsa so much I ordered a large cup to go, along with a hearty portion of leftovers. I gave atmosphere a 4 because the bench seats in many of the booths are torn and not very comfortable. That was my only complaint. I’m vegetarian, no dairy and they had no problem adjusting my menu choices.

It is really sad when you take your family out to eat and before you sit down you're charged a tip because you have 4 children. This leads to poor service because they just don't care. We had several items that was cold, they then microwave it. Ask for refills they disappeared. Did not enquire how things were. Yet when we brought it up to the cashier both her and the waitress treated us rudely. Saying they couldn't do anything about it. They raised their voices to us in front of the children. We didn't think it was wrong to mention that the service was bad. We definitely won't go back.

When I tell yall this used to be my favorite restaurant as a kid but not anymore … my food was cold it was trash the manager wouldn’t give me her name it’s a very nasty place and I found HAIR in my food yall heard me right HAIR this place is really down bad and definitely need a upgrade within the establishment when I even walked in the workers making out in the restaurant in the booths while they are on duty very terrible.

Will never go back. They automatically charge 20 percent tip for 4 + child , food was cold, salsa was tomato paste when asked for the tomatio. The staff took on an attitude that made me want to leave.expensive cold food.
