Dolton Public Library

First time going to this library. It was very clean… due to pandemic there were limitations on seating. I didn’t see any computers in the Children’s section which may be due to pandemic. I went close to closing so next time I will go to spend more time and see what services are available.

I was surprised to see the new decor and update! It looks terrific and is a lot brighter than it used to be! I faxed 40 pages and it was SUPER fast! The equipment they have not only is quick but also easy to use. The staff were friendly and helpful. If you haven't been to Dolton's Library in a while, do yourself a favor and stop by!

I was invited here as a performer. After my performance, a worker there sent me a condescending and unprofessional email from an email address outside of the organization. The email contained information that made me uncomfortable while also purposely insulting me. It was far from constructive criticism. Let alone, I felt I was being blamed for the poor marketing of the event, which I had nothing to do with. I reported my experience to the library and I personally had mixed feelings about how the issue was addressed. I do not recommend this place if you are ever invited here to perform.

I normally don’t have any problems with this library but I was kind of irritated by the fact that they shut their computers down at 5:30pm and you aren’t able to print anything. I get off at 5pm and I needed some very important documents for the next day and due to this I was not able to get them. I also attempted to get a library card and couldn’t do that even though it was only 5:45pm and I was already in the system. How are y’all closed at 6pm but stop operating at 5:30pm? The workers were literally sitting at the front desk waiting until 6pm, someone could’ve provided some good customer service and at least gave me the library card.

Children's library was closed! Said broken window but has been 6 days and no one has repaired windows. Children can't come and use library. Furthermore, couldn't sit and read in main section. No chairs around tables. You can only use computers! So if you just wanted to come and read - not possible. It's a desert there. No stars!
