Customer Reviews
Absolutely phenomenal gourmet fish market in Chicago. The strip mall atmosphere does not attract because as I pulled in on Sunday near the Men's Wearhouse, there was Dirk in his baseball cap and T-shirt in the 32° weather, grilling salmon, asparagus, as well as these massive tequila spiced prawns The tuna poke is legendary. There version of the lobster roll, which I refuse to try as I grew up visiting Marthas Vineyard every summer, is reportedly one of the best in the Midwest. I would not doubt that. The fresh fish is incredible. The varieties are so abundant. To be honest, I don't love the crabcakes. Dirks sells the best house cured grave locks I've had anywhere. I love this place.
Overpriced seafood, some decent quality most average. Stone crab claws were rotten at $20 apiece. Certainly not jumbo either! Threw them out…Lobster bisque acceptable but not worth $18 for 2 cups. Disorganized staff all clustered around in the back. No pick up line for paid orders and no one at the register! For all the people that think this place is wonderful you should try supreme lobster in Villa Park or just go over to Whole Foods!
Just stopped to look and found really great varieties of prepared and packaged items. The selection is fantastic plus the service was on par. I would definitely recommend to seafood lovers and novices alike. The fresh items had me drooling like I was caught on a line. For sure go back.
I love this seafood market! They have super fresh seafood and the lobster roll was big, stuffed with lobster, and delicious! We also got their shrimp salad and a couple of live lobsters that were very good for dinner later that night!
Not only is the selection fresh and ever changing, but Dirk himself is SPECTACULAR. Not only are they super knowledgeable without seafood that they have and seafood that they don’t have, but they are super quick to tell you a recipe or storage tips. Great first experience today. My clams were also great.
