Derby Restaurant

Great little place to eat! Very nice staff and good food. The bathroom is always clean. We have had a breakfast, lunch, and dinner at derby. Great each time. We will be going back soon. The wait staff took time to tell us the history of the derby and the family's 3rd generation who own and still operate it. I love that most places to sit are booths.

This was our first time eating here. Several of our friends have eaten here many times and have recommended Derby Restaurant. We enjoyed our meal. We both had the Fried chicken. I added fried squash, pinto beans and Mac and cheese. My husband added green beans, mashed potatoes and fried okra..

We arrived around 3 pm on Saturday afternoon. For that time of day, the restaurant had good number of customers, at least 50% occupied. The walls were adorned with a variety of mounted fish. Home cooking! Food was good. Ordered “all you can eat” salt and peppered catfish. Plate came with to large pieces of fish, two sides and hush puppies. Catfish was lightly battered and delicious. Waitress asked if we’d like more catfish… we had to say “no”. My partner finished his plate. My fish was so big that I was only able to eat one piece! Service was good, and prices were more than reasonable. I highly recommend The Derby Restaurant.

The vegetables i ordered today march 4 2026 were delicious. I have not eaten st the Derby in over 20 years. The cabbage Pinto's and potato salad was great. Little hush puppys were good in my pintos and cabbage.Food was definitely homemade and fresh. I will order from there again

Good food, nice people and good prices. Great little cozy restaurant that has been there for a very long time.
