Great little gin joint right on State St. in downtown Bristol. Being from PA, I like to give the local establishments a try and this place did not disappoint. The catfish platter was maybe the best catfish I've ever had!!! I paid $14.99 for this delectable meal. Hardy portions with plenty of sides to choose from. Although they serve deep fried (yes, FRIED) corn on the cob which is a MUST! Only to be outdone by the catfish! A-mazing!!! Great little place to stop in for an unforgettable meal and great atmosphere. Looks like they have live music also in the evening. I went on a weekday afternoon and was seated right away. The staff was super friendly and attentive. Stop in and get the catfish. You will not be sorry.
Bbq and jazz does not disappoint. Pulled Pork, Chicken.and Brisket tender and delicious. The house bbq, spicy and the carolina gold sauce all tested great. Cole slaw and Baked beans perfect. The fries are huge and 2 can eat from one order. Service was great. Order in the back and go grab a seat they bring it out to you for a wonderful experience
We stopped in on a whim after hearing the live music walking by and had a wonderful time. The music (Jason Lloyd & Mike) was great, the staff friendly, and the barbeque was excellent. I really enjoyed my player with burnt ends and pulled pork - the recommended fried corn was super tasty as well. Seemed popular with lots of locals. Will definitely return next time we're in town!
Purchased the 5 meat platter - every meat was exceptionally dry and brittle. There is zero smoke flavor which is what makes BBQ great. Baked beans taste like pure sugar. Okra was good. The pork rinds were off the chart amazing with Cajun seasoning and pimento cheese spread which was great all its own. Sime foods might be great but ours was well below standard. Dry ribs and crunchy dry meats is not our standard - the 5 meat platter has very small portions - will feed 2. Smoked sausage means a few pieces not a whole smoked sausage. Disappointed with meats but might return for the pork rinds.
Got the chicken philly, it had great flavor and was stuffed full. The baked beans were delicious and so were the Cajun fries.
