Libraries were an essential part of my early years. They were warm in the cold months and cool in the hot months. Back then there wasn't much money to buy books. My small town libraries were a quiet place to read, learn, explore places, dream. The Delaware City Library, located in an old schoolhouse, with a large hunting mural with birddogs and pheasant, original to the school, is both throwback and contemporary enough (digital) to bridge nearly a century. The staff is pleasant, helpful and well, you know, nicely librarian.
This was the first time I visited the Delaware city library. The personnel was very friendly, very courteous . I went there to get some CDs . While talking to the Director because it’s very rarely, they have some person come in to take out CDs She had informed me that the Delaware city library is the first library to sign out the vinyl albums. Even though they just started with vinyl albums, the collection was pretty good everything from the other groups, such as Fleetwood Mac, the animals and some new artists like Billie Eilish and Lady Gaga. With final Albums, a big thing at this time it’s nice to find out that you’re a Delaware Library you can take some out listen to what the vinyl recordings are and possibly record. I thoroughly enjoyed going to the library and talking with the personn
Very nice, cozy library it's an old elementary school. Staff is so nice and they will help you locate anything you need, they have a cute area for children perfect place to go in the winter time when you have cabin fever or those hot days. Also they have a place that's sorta a safe haven for young children 7 and older I believe. It's called the Pow and it's an after school area that allows children to do there home work and play activity's. Love this place
Beautiful library. Cute little play area for kids and the staff are very helpful.
Love this library. It is in a wonderful location. Best library atmosphere. It is quiet, comfortable, and staff are always nice and very helpful. Much better than the libraries in our area that can be crowded and loud.
