Deal's Bed & Breakfast

We stayed at Deal’s Bed and Breakfast as a family of four during our 10-day Alaska adventure and absolutely loved it. The place is cozy, clean, and incredibly comfortable—everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Its convenient location made it a great base for exploring Anchorage and the surrounding areas. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, and we especially appreciated the thoughtful breakfast spread each morning. A wonderful home-away-from-home that added to the charm of our trip.

A wonderful and charming place! Kathryn was so sweet and has such an interesting life story. Our rooms were clean and this place is very quiet! I would stay again.

We spent one night here at the end of our Alaska trip before flying home. It is about 15 minutes from the city of Anchorage by car. |I booked it via hotels.com and got the self check-in instructions early in the app and via email. Easy and comprehensive instructions. |We stayed in room 5 downstairs that was a spacious room with King size bed. The windows seemed to have blackout curtains. Which we really appreciated after waking up way too early in a lot of other places because of the almost constant daylight that you have. Which is great unless you need a darker room to sleep well. ||The breakfast is very good with different options. This was a very clean and homey place. The room was beautiful with a king sized bed, small refrigerator and coffee maker. The bathroom has a jacuzzi tub and shower and a nice large sink are. |The Deal’s were very friendly and accommodating. |Breakfast had many options from scrambled eggs and sausage, fruit, danish, toast, dry cereal, juices, coffee and tea. |It was very convenient to the Anchorage Airport. |Mrs. Deal gave us a map and great ideas of places to visit. |I highly recommend!

Let’s start with the positive: very comfortable bed, clean room with nice oversize bathroom towels. ||As far as what merits an average review: we did not receive any communication (we used hotels.com, so that might be a factor) and were unsure of how it all worked. We had a one night stay and caught an early train so we missed breakfast (that’s on us). The other reviews say breakfast is great. ||When we arrived we were greeted by an older gentleman who didn’t introduce himself (he was one of the proprietors) and was indifferent at best, straight-up rude at his worst. We couldn’t have felt more unwelcome. Talking to us seemed to be a bother. ||The B & B is described as “grandma’s house” and that’s true.
