Dayton Mercantile

Wonderful gem of a store and eatery. We stop every trip home after hiking in the Big Horns for excellent homemade ice cream. Nice seating area/ park space right outside, even had a deer wander by.

Yes yes yes When staying in town multiple people said we needed to try out the ice cream at Dayton mercantile and they were correct it was amazing I will definitely go back next time I'm in town Check out the homemade caramel corn also

Historic shop in a small quaint town near the foothills of the Big Horn Mountains. We stopped on our way back from a daytrip into the Big Horns for lunch and a chocolate malt. Nice outside sitting area with interactive historic buildings. Mining for the kids. We had chocolate malts and shared a grilled cheese. Both were great. Interesting shop inside with many items from years past. Definitely worth a stop.

Their toasted sandwiches are pure goodness and so nicely priced. Pictured is half of what you get, it was so irresistible I couldn’t stop for a picture before I finished the other half.

Very cute little spot with some vintage finds, souvenirs, geology gifts and even a little area to 'pan' for neat rocks, tasty sandwiches and drinks with outdoor seating in the shade. If you need to make a stop to stretch your legs or grab lunch this is a perfect place
