Dave's Cosmic Subs

Tasty subs in a classic local spot. They have a number of interesting combinations for sandwiches. Also, their location is next to the river so when the weather is nice it’s good for a stroll as well.

Been a fan of Dave’s my whole life, grew up in the area and have been coming here as long as I can remember. Ordered at #27 Grateful Dave (and they specifically requested I pay in cash, somewhat odd) and when I got back to my office and took a bite, I saw there was no turkey on the sandwich. So I called and let them know and took the turkeyless sandwich back so they could see and remake it. The woman on the phone didn’t believe me, and supposedly the owner made the sandwich himself. When I got back to the shop they seemed very suspicious (maybe thought I was scamming them to get extra meat or a second sandwich?), and instead of making a new sandwich, they handed me a couple slices of turkey in foil and sent me on my way. Got the “hey Dave” comes topped with slaw, banana peppers and horseradish. Not any of my favorite things, but on this sub, the flavors mixed together so well I didn’t even notice. Sub was a good size for the price also. Will be trying more of their subs

$11 for an 8-inch cole slaw and bread with a sliver of pastrami and corn beef meat, apparently. $3 for a bag of potato chips. No way. Underwhelmed and overpriced.. There's better quality for better pricing at gas stations in the hood. This is wildly overrated.

Great little local Cleveland chain. Comes with a hippy, laid back vibe. Sandwich took about 10 minutes to make during the peek of the lunch hour. Not a lot of seating so more of a grab and go. They have a large menu with something for everyone. The regular sub is big enough for me but there is an extra large one probably best for sharing.
