Davenport's Bar and Grille

We were in the Providence area and looking for a place to grab a quick app and cocktails. Ended up stumbling upon this local gem. Not sure how I have never heard of this place before. We sat in bar/lounge area. Very nice and cozy. Even with the Pats game playing still very quiet and relaxing. They had this great deal of half off apps on Sundays so we grabbed the mozz sticks and chicken fingers. Both were great. They have a big list of specialty drinks so we tried a few different ones and they were all fantastic! Our first trip was so good we came back again and get the same apps but also added the potato skins which were perfectly crispy and huge! Ended with a couple of martinis. Service was great on both visits. We will be back to try more of the menu for sure.

Our usual waiter is Ryan. And we highly recommend him. This afternoon, we had Amanda as our waitress. We have eaten here for a very long time, and the four of us are older - so it’s safe to say we eat slowly and talk a lot. Amanda was very pleasant and she had a good personality. We always try to be friendly and very appreciative for the service we get. We usually tip 20- 30% since we usually spend a lot of time talking and relaxing. I think it is nice to have a good fit with your server, and it does take time to get comfortable with each other. Today we tipped 1/3 the value of our bill. And that is why we try to tip accordingly. And today was one of the first days we felt awkward. The food is consistently good. They could do better with the desserts, because Gregg’s across the street

Stopped for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Seated right away, as we were on of the first ones to arrive when they opened for the day. Waitress was super pleasant, friendly and personable. She really did make the whole lunch there, THAT much more pleasurable. Ordered drinks, and food and within what seemed like minutes. Arrived at our table hot and fresh. Food was great. American fare, non-alcoholic drinks were different and equally delicious. Good to see that the portions were a little bigger than average, so you definitely get your money's worth. Would absolutely come back if in the area.

All the servers were nice and happy to be there. I had the vegetarian burger and it was like gourmet, bunch of very interesting flavors mixed together. It was nicer than I remembered here. I haven’t been in like twenty years. The bathroom feels very 2000s but the rest of the restaurant seems new and updated. Growing up, my grandparents used to take us here and I always thought this was a huge chain restaurant like Friendly’s but I tried to google it and I think there are only two locations. They just feel like a chain for some reason from the outside. It was all people over 40+ in here.

We hosted our company Christmas party at Davenport's in East Providence this past December, and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience! Special thanks to Karen, Kaycee and the entire team at Davenport's for making the planning and execution so seamless. The banquet room was spacious and more than adequate for our group. One standout feature was the projector—it was such a fabulous amenity! We used it for trivia games and presenting our awards, and it really helped keep the entire team engaged and involved. The banquet menu was excellent, and the food was a hit with all of our guests. The servers were attentive and helpful throughout the event, ensuring everything went smoothly.
