I had an amazing experience at Darjeeling Kitchen and Cafe in Long Island! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere instantly transported me to Darjeeling—the décor, the vibe, and the cozy ambiance made it feel like a little getaway. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home and attentive to all our needs. This was our first time trying the restaurant, and I was pleasantly surprised by the unique flavors. The food was deliciously different in the best way! We tried the Chicken Thali and Rildok, and both were absolutely fantastic. The spices and preparation felt authentic, and the portions were generous. Knowing that all the food is Halal gave us extra peace of mind and made the experience even better. What I loved most was how the cafe balances authent

This has quickly became my favorite restaurant. I've never eaten Tibetan/Himalayan food before but everything is so good. My favorites to get here are the Rildok and the Thenthuk. Honestly you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Every time I come back I try something new and find a new favorite. Every one that works here is also so nice 😭Cannot recommend this place enough! Do yourself a favor and come try this place!

Hands down, the best dining experience I’ve had at a restaurant. The food was incredibly authentic—every bite took me back to my visit to Darjeeling. Tharkey, our server, truly made the experience exceptional. He was attentive, kind, and genuinely cared about our comfort and experience, always checking in at the right moments without ever being intrusive. His warmth and professionalism added so much to the evening. The aludum was the highlight for me, but every dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. I also really appreciated the calm, welcoming ambiance—very little noise and great music choices throughout. You can truly feel the heart behind this place as a small, family-owned restaurant, where passion and care go into both the food and the service. I’m grateful to have discov

The tea has the illusion of burning your tongue, the flavors are rich. I appreciate the service and this one guy who always works hard to serve us our delish food :) He deserves a raise 🎉 I had the Himalayan Curry At first glance, it looks perfectly crafted The rice tastes perfectly stewed. The meat, you ask? Neat. It really does taste the same :) The tukpa looks delicious The tukpa was flavorful, My friend had momo, She said the momo tasted delish! The texture was great, the momo was colorful The paintings look nice!

I got the Jhol Momo with chicken, Shaptak, and Rildok. Jhol momo was the best for sure, while the Shaptak was a great burst of flavor although really spicy. Rildok seems like an acquired taste because of the blue-cheese but the fufu made it soft and chewy. Overall love the vibes, great service! Would def come here to try more new dishes.
