Dakota Farms Restaurant Rugby

The food here was quite good, especially the chicken tenders. The french fries were delicious, and the toast was decent. However, it took about 10 minutes to even get a menu. We were unsure of how to order or be seated. The outside of the restaurant was a bit lacking, but considering it’s a small town, I wasn’t expecting it to be perfect, but I’d definitely eat here again. The waitress was quite pleasant.

The fish tastes like it is out of a box, waiter said that it came with potatoes but we had to ask them afterwards to get us some (they only brought the fish out). Sirloin was okay but medium instead of medium rare as ordered. Ordered a burger that came on burnt toast. Service was sub par. Fries were good. Chicken alfredo was okay but pretty expensive ($20). No vegetable sides with the entrees, besides potatoes. Soup was good (knoephla).

I ordered "The Beast Sandwich" and the waitress was kind enough to add sauteed mushrooms to it and a side of Au Jus... it was one of the most amazing sandwiches I have ever had. light horseradish in their cheese and sauce along with the sauteed onions and mushrooms over thinly sliced roast beef... WOW! It was so good I had to post about it. Service was great too.

We live in Minnesota and go out of our way to stop here on our way to Lake Metigoshe. We have always had excellent service when dining here - their servers have always been so friendly and pleasant - lots of genuine smiles. The food selections are many: salads, hot and cold sandwiches, assorted breakfast options, dinner meal options, REALLY GOOD COFFEE!!, a HUGE selection of desserts -their pie selections are many AND delicious. We often add 'pie to go' 😊!! Sandwich selections include fries or chips. I always order their sweet potato fries - OH, SO GOOD!! They were a little slow but that was to be expected since it was noon on a Sunday and they were busy with what looked like a post-church crowd. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and worth the wait.
