DaCapo of Avon

We visited DaCapo for the first time in several years. We were looking for good Italian food and we were not disappointed. I had the Parmesan Crusted Cod and Meatballs as an appetizer. Both were excellent. My wife eats gluten free and enjoyed the Pork Chop. When we arrived at our reservation time, the restaurant was busy and we had to wait. We were directed to the bar and comped our drinks which was a nice gesture. We'll definitely be back again to sample more of the menu.

The atmosphere was okay. A lot of people present. Service was subpar. Took too long for the waiter to take the order. The waiter forgot to put the to-go order in. They recommended the chicken marsala that someone in our party ordered, but it was not very flavorful. Food was below par. Ordered the parmesan crusted cod. There was no parmesan crust. Just two very small pieces of cod with no crust whatsoever. The gnocchi and vegetables, same as the tiny Cod pieces, was unflavored. Very bland, blah food. Brought it home and try to eat it later. Added salt and pepper and it was still just too bland. The cod dish wasn't worth the $32. The two tiny pieces of cod are present in the picture

This place was awesome! Drove by and immediately stopped because of how beautiful the outside dining area was. Actual grape vines from the ceiling, how neat! The scallop risotto was so yummy and my mom had the chicken bacon ranch pizza. Prices were cheaper than expected but quality did not disappoint. I wish I lived closer to the area, I would be back every week!

I ordered takeout from DaCapo before and now decided to pay them a visit. The place was really good. There's plenty of parking available. They have both indoor and outdoor seating spots. We tried their octopus and pizza. I love octopus dishes and had them at many places before - this one is definitely on the level. It was awesome and grilled to perfection. The pizza here follow Italian style and is really good as well. The Earl Gray Martini I ordered was memorable. They also provide their own bread and olive oil while you wait for the food, and it was delicious. The only complaint I had is that the waiter forgot to put our drinks in the system, so we had to order them twice. But with the quality of food here, I don't even want for that to affect the rating. AMAZING. Came here on the way to Waterbury from the airport with my mom, we shared the mussels and they were perfect. I got lasagna and my mom got the zucchini pasta dish I believe and both dishes were also perfect. Staff was super friendly and attentive and I believe and owner or manager was walking around the whole time greeting people and interacting with staff and customers. Great atmosphere, definitely going to be coming back here next time I’m in CT.
