Da Log House - Hawaiian Bed & Breakfast

The house is beautiful, all made in cedar wood, it looks a little bit like a Swiss chalet in the middle of Hawaii. We had a beautiful room with a private bathroom, a fridge and a balcony with a great view on the garden, but still enjoyed the cosiness of a B&B. Susi and Daniel are adorable ,very friendly and talkative, they enjoy receiving people. The breakfast they prepared for us in their kitchen with fresh local product was simply amazing. We felt literally at home. The position is great to discover the area (20 minutes from Hilo or from Puna area or from Volcano).

This B&B is one of the best I've stay at. The house is beautiful and the hosts are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I will stay here again if I visit the big island again.

My Husband and I were fortunate enough to fly to this beautiful island for our honeymoon in 2011 (sorry better late than never to write the review we figure). We had planned only a couple nights at Da Log House while we toured the island however, due to the warm welcome we received from the hosts, Susi and Daniel, we stayed the whole week!! ||||Very clean, comfortable and well priced rooms. We chose the larger room upstairs which had its own bathroom, a large comfortable bed and mini fridge. My second time staying with Daniel and Susie at the Da log house. I stayed there for two weeks. Always feel like I'm staying with family when I stay there make me feel very welcome. Daniel and Susie is very helpful with give me directions and let me know any good local tips. Daniel even tells me about local stories about plants and Island very knowledgeable. Very nice clean room and bathroom. Have my own mini fridge to store my waters and milk to make my stay more enjoyable and affordable. Nice central location on the island for tourist attractions on the Hilo side. Not too far from some of the best beaches on the island and the Volcano national Park .They are down a very well maintained dirt and gravel road from pavement from main road. We stayed there for three days in May 2011. The owners, Daniel and Susi, were so nice. We loved their huge husky, Tara, too. ||||Daniel and Susi made excellent breakfasts, but I mostly remember the waffles and great, local coffee. Daniel also helped us purchase some local coffee that would have been difficult to secure elsewhere. For the first two nights, we were the only guests but on the third night a young, German tourist joined the house. I believe they get a lot of German-speaking visitors as Susi (and Daniel?) speak German.||||We loved the house - as others have said - it has really interesting architecture - so bright and open.
