Small town "mom & pop" diners provide some of the best places to eat. The white gravy was brownish as if it were old or scorched. Didn't look overly appealing. The taste was SPOT ON, no odd or ill flavors. You can't always judge the book by it's cover. Nice cozy, quiet place to eat. My wife added a side salad and they didn't charge her for it. (I sincerely hope, saying that doesn't get anyone in trouble. I figured it was the smaller town hospitality.) I would certainly eat there again.
Went here for dinner thought I'd try something new. Service was top notch. Food not so much. Ordered a steak had no flavor. Was brought a bottle of A1 that was empty. Carrots had been microwaved and burnt my mouth, the mashed potatoes had huge unmashed chunks in them and the milk I ordered was warm when it was brought to the table, and the salad came out of a bag. Not to mentioned the checkered floor was filthy doesn't look like it had seen a mop in a very very long time. Very disappointed
We like to try little diners when traveling and thought we’d give this one a try. It was almost 11:00 and was not too busy. Lots of sports memorabilia but nothing telling us if Curtis C was an athlete or how they tied together (if they did). I had French toast and bacon. I enjoyed my FT - it appeared to be deep fried and gave it a beignet type flavor (which I love). Bacon was cooked well. Hubby had egg plate and was disappointed in that it appeared he got the end of the day’s batch - many small pieces of potato, many of them burnt. Toast was cold. Eggs and bacon were OK. Our food came out quickly but no one stopped by to see how things were. Seems like a spot for regulars as many customers were greeted by name.
Great lunch place Service was 100% great.
This is our 2nd time here. Food has been very good with nice portions and a willingness to customize ingredients. Its quiet and older because it's a small town café. You get your retired couples doing brunch and your blur collar guys stocking up on nice full lunches. The atmosphere is baseball and sports but not a sports "bar". Familyfriedly but not Mc whomevers. Clean but not pretentious. This is a regular stop for us now.
