Cranky's Ice Cream

We love Crankys! They have some of the best icecream I’ve ever had and I crave it when I’m not in town!! The location is great- it’s about 5 minutes from Austin college for anyone wanting a sweet treat, and it’s in a great spot downtown to walk around/thrift after. I recommend going to try it out and support a local business that is family owned and involved in our community!

This ice cream was such a good experience. I was in the mood for ice cream and I had heard good things about this place already, so I had to try it out. The flavor selection was impressive, with some traditional flavors as well as some other creative combinations. The ice cream itself was unlike anything else I've ever tried, it was so amazing and the texture was so rich. The entire place is set up in such an interesting way and it has great decorations and graphics. It really has a good vibe overall. The shop was very clean and inviting, and I will defintely be back for more!

We walked in 10 minutes before close and the man was so very kind to us! The kids and I enjoyed our chocolate chip cookie dough, cookies and cream and almond joy ice cream very much and will be returning to try it with waffle cones next! The business was clean and was decorated very fun and bright!!!

I’m a born-and-raised Texas girl. I grew up near the Blue Bell ice cream factory, where most of my childhood field trips took place. So I feel a special attachment to Blue Bell. But Cranky’s ice cream easily pushes all the competitors aside and takes first place!! This ice cream is absolutely delicious. The texture is smooth and creamy, not hard or full of crystals. At this point I’ve probably tried at least 10 different flavors from Cranky’s; each one is a perfect blend of flavors, and not overly sweet. They make their own waffle cones also, and if you happen to visit while they’re making the cones the aroma will convince you to try one! Cranky’s Ice Cream Shop is hands down one of the best ice cream spots we’ve ever visited. The texture is absolutely perfect: thick, creamy, fluffy, and never watery. You can really taste the homemade quality in every bite. We tried the Cookie Butter in a cup and the whimsically named Monkey Fart in one of their freshly made waffle cones, and both were incredible. They also have such a fun variety of unique flavors you won’t find anywhere else. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re an ice cream lover!
