Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Believe it or not, I’ve never been to the Cracker Barrel. We don’t have them in Canada. So, my husband and I decided to try it while in Florida. I thought it would be awful because I liked fine dining; but I actually enjoyed it for a casual meal. I liked the country-style decor and the attached gift store. We started with a biscuit and a corn muffin each, included in our meals. We then shared crispy battered fried onion bites appetizer with dip. Yummy! We ordered cheaper main meals with smaller portions available from 4-6pm. I had boneless fried chicken breast and choice of 2 sides. I chose mac ‘n cheese and coleslaw. Hubby had grilled chicken breast with carrots and fries. Portions were plentiful. Our main meals were just $10.49us each. I thought it was cute that the cutlery came in a bro

I love the store that you walk into when you open the door. They have everything and it's reasonable. So you can shop and eat. The food was very good. I ordered the Shephard pie. The entire top was covered with crispy potato hash browns. I would definitely order it again. I went with three others that ordered breakfast they all said the pancakes were excellent

We try to plan breakfast at the Cracker Barrel once every trip into the US. We don't have Caracker Barrel in Southern Ontario. My wife loves wandering through the store. Sometimes, it's seasonal item's, Christmas is the store theme at the moment. You can always find healthy choices on the menu. Pecan pancakes don't count as healthy. Well, we have to take care of ourselves and splurge a little once in a while. Cracker Barrel has been a favorite of ours for over 30 years.

Old country store atmosphere is awesome and fun especially during the Christmas season. My catfish was ok, not great in flavor and a bit over done. Service was good. Did miss the typical games at the table you normally find. Overall a good dining experience.

Updated 11/1/23 11am, seated quickly and order taken quickly but food took a long time, over 1 hour. The food once we got it was MUCH improved over 2 yrs ago. ALL VERY GOOD! One issue with cheesecake pancakes which the server quickly remedied. It is so awfully loud though, hard to enjoy eating, next time maybe try seating outside. Veronica was our server and she did an outstanding job. AAA++++
