Cowpokes Bar-B-Q

Great little brisket sandwich while on the road! Nice thick cut, tender pieces of sliced brisket on a warm bun. I opted for dry since I was on tge road, but they still added pickles and a side of bbq. Yes, the sauce is on the thinner side, but it's good enough to add just the right amount of flavor. I've gotta make time to stop in next time I'm passing thru!

BEST TURKEY AROUND!! GOOD GAWD!! Brisket was a little dry but they has said it was the last one for the day and I bet that had an effect. But the turkey, cream corn and Mac n cheese and oh ffuuhhh the cherry cobbler!

Decided to stop here for lunch. The front wall had a Texas Monthly "Top 50 BBQ Joints" paper on the wall, so I had high hopes. The first thing I noticed was no plates, all meats including sausage are sold by the 1/4 lb, and the price for brisket and sausage were the same. I ordered 1/4 moist brisket and 1/4 spicy sausage. For my side I went with potato salad and a Dr Pepper. The brisket had decent flavor, but only half of every piece was moist, the side with the fatty edge, the opposite side was drier and less tender. My 1/4 portion was about 4 small slices. The sausage had good flavor. It was some of the better sausage I've had, but the 1/4 lb serving was quite a bit, and appeared to be double the brisket. OMG !!! When traveling I35 you need to stop in and get you some of this BBQ... the brisket is very tender and has a good flavor the ribs weren't fall off the bone but are very tender on the bone which I prefer, I would rather the meat stay on the bone but don't mistake me the ribs are very tender until I put the ribs in my mouth and we had the spicy smoked sausage as well not sure what they use but the flavor was very good with no overpowering flavor they have a wide variety of sides to choose from and another thing to remember all sides and desserts are homemade we got the pineapple cheesecake to go for our dessert so I will definitely add a review about the cheesecake later

First time out here, and I was impressed. Staff is easy going. I was shocked when I received my tab, $10 and some change for a brisket and sausage sandwich, side and drink. Granted it was during their lunch special, but these prices are unheard of when it comes to BBQ. Brisket was smoked perfectly, no dry slices. Spicy sausage was only a compliment to the sandwich. Will be back!
