Cougar Mountain Lodge

My husband’s truck broke down by Cougar Mountain Lodge. When we walked in to get out of the cold and figure out our next steps in a warm space, the manager gave us something warm to drink and was just so kind and welcoming. I truly appreciate her hospitality during a stressful time. She let us use the landline to call someone to pick us up. We ended up ordering food while we waited for our ride, and the fries, chicken fingers, and mozzarella sticks were delicious! If we had to get stranded anywhere, I’m glad it was next to Cougar Mountain Lodge.

We stopped here after our camping weekend. The food was quick and excellent. Some of the best fried food I've had in a long time. Everyone loved their dishes. We've been to Cougar Mountain Lodge over the decades. I never remember loving the food this much. Check it out!

Must have burger !! Stopped in here with a friend after some fishing nearby. Had the "Big Todd" burger and regular order of fries. Hands down, best dang burger I have had in a long time. Was so good, had to come back the next day with my wife. If you are looking for good food (in particular a hamburger), this is the spot. Super friendly service, plenty of parking right off highway 55. Would recommend and will return. Keep up the good work Cougar folks.

Super friendly people and a great burger. Drinking Coke out of a Kerr jar leaves a good taste in my mouth. You know what I’m talking about. A real burger leaves some juice on the basket and your fingers. This does not disappoint!

We ate both breakfast and dinner at the lodge. The food was very good, home type cooking. Service was excellent. The atmosphere was rustic and clean. Price was some what high $13 & up for most menu items. Rating the diner at a 5 🌟. We also stayed two nights at the lodge in room 3. That's where I rated a two. The hardwood floors were very squeaky and not swept and there was a strong musty smell. There was thick layer of dust under the beds too. I went to open the window for fresh air and there was no screen on the windows and there was a spider outside the window, and thick with cobwebs. In addition, the bathrooms are shared. That wouldn't have been so bad if the rooms were cleaner and even just decorated. I won't stay there again, but I'll most definitely be stopping by to eat. Friendly at
