COTOA Restaurant

I was really excited to try Cotoa and it did not disappoint! We had a lovely family dinner there Sunday night. The ambiance and decor of the space is cozy but still sophisticated. I appreciated all the little touches, especially the various hooks and small tables for purses and bags (why doesn’t everyone do this?). Unfortunately the kitchen was out of some foods due to some sort of delivery issue (they called and told us in advance) so there were various dishes we were not able to try, but the ones we did order were all delicious. I really loved the goat empanadas and the blue crab salad served with giant tostones, but truly not a bad bite in the bunch. The service was also excellent and attentive. COTOA is, point blank period, the best dining experience in Miami. I moved here in October, and it has quickly become my favorite hidden gem! Every visit is nothing short of amazing. As the daughter of an Ecuadorian immigrant, nothing makes me feel closer to my heritage than this place…it truly brings a piece of home to Miami. Between the incredible atmosphere and the pan de yuca that I crave constantly, it really does feel like family. The service is on another level. I’ve eaten at many Michelin-starred restaurants, but COTOA is hands-down the best experience I’ve had in the guide. Cotoa was an amazing experience from start to finish. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The steak was perfectly cooked and paired so well with the crispy potatoes and fresh cucumber salad. The appetizers were creative and delicious, especially the cassava bread. Dessert was the perfect ending, the warm chocolate cake with the fruity ice cream was incredible. The drinks, atmosphere, and service were all top tier. You can really tell the chefs put a lot of care into every dish. If you’re looking for a unique and memorable dining experience, Cotoa is definitely worth visiting. Highly recommend!

What a great place. I had never had Ecuadorian food, so I didn’t know what to expect. The flavors from every dish are just so bright and refreshing with everything. The cornbread may be the best I’ve ever had in my life. Amazing fresh seafood. The meat empanada and mahi ceviche are also not to be missed. Can’t wait to come back and try some of the dishes we missed… or maybe just do all the same things again

I had been looking forward to trying this restaurant for quite some time, as my boyfriend is Ecuadorian and I have a deep appreciation for Ecuadorian cuisine. Cotoa truly exceeded my expectations. The flavors are vibrant and authentic, and the ceviche captures the genuine essence and unmistakable taste of Ecuador. Aldo and Allison made the experience even more memorable with their warm and attentive service. They thoughtfully recommended their standout dishes and ensured everything was perfect throughout our visit. The combination of exceptional food and outstanding hospitality makes this restaurant a solid 10/10. I highly recommend it.
