Cook Out

My wife and I decided to stop here on our way to Boone to see our daughter. I have never had a bad experience at Cookout until now. The food came out quickly so we were happy as we were on a schedule. First, we opened the box with my sandwich and fries in it and there was only a small pile of fries in the box. I went back to the counter and told the girl that we didn't receive two fries as we had ordered two. She snottily said that they put both fries in the same box. I informed her that what we received was not even one orders worth of fries and she told me there was nothing she could do. WOW! My wife got the chicken quesadilla and after a couple of bites she looked at me and said the chicken was awful. She opened the quesadilla and the chicken was burnt black all the way through. Any e

Cool looking Cookout inside. The staff was pretty good a little slow coming to the register and the food was good. The rest rooms were not very well taken care of for a new looking store.

We were dropping in on the road trucking so ate outside in truck but food & service were good. As always the shakes were awesomely delish!! Will return next time I'm in the area.

On our travel home from Boone NC, we were initially excited to encounter an eat in/sit down Cook Out restaurant. However, that excitement was quickly drained, and our patience was sorely tested by the glacially slow meal preparation. My Cajun chicken was much smaller than what I have received at competitors as well as other Cook Out locations. The food was as expected, but the wait for it (well over 15 minutes) was totally unexpected. I will skip this restaurant in the future! 8/2025 my son wanted something for a late dinner from here. They sorely disappointed me again. About 1/3 of the Cajun fries were burnt. Of course ordering and receiving the food via drive thru, I didn't notice the unpalatable fries until we were miles away. Out of all the cookouts I have been to, this by far was the best, great customer service and fresh hot and delicious food I was so impressed. The manager on duty Bethany was absolutely amazing 10/5/2025
