This place was amazing! Their menu has tons of options and the food was absolutely delicious, the portion sizes were great, the atmosphere was cozy with nice music, cute decor, and a wonderfully friendly waitstaff that were patient, kind, and knowledgeable. The place was absolutely popping when we showed up Saturday afternoon, but even so we were still seated in like 20 minutes. It was cash only, but they have an ATM inside. Please consider supporting this wonderful mission forward pay-what-you-can charity weekend brunch spot! Open Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 8am-4pm. They recommend a donation size of ~$15 per entrée, and perhaps ~$5 extra if you want substitutions to accommodate, but it is not required as all menu items are unpriced to honor their pay-what-you-can charity model. Went to get some breakfast with a friend and we decided to try out Comfort Cafe. We saw some fotos on the food and man did it not disappoint. I was craving some French toast and you couldn't compare them to the ones you've had at IHOP or Denny's. The portions were big and delicious, although some foods may be very sweet for those with diabetes or just don't have a sweet tooth. The restaurant itself felt very welcoming, it didn't feel like a restaurant (in a good way). It felt like you were at a relatives house where you could eat comfortably. And the service was amazing, you get greeted at the door and they lead you to your table. Shout out to Amanda, our server, who was very friendly and chill to talk to. One thing thought, if you do consider Comfort Cafe, Bring an empty stomach!!!
We found this place in a google search & soooo glad we did. They are open Fri-Sun only (wad told there is a coffee shop next door that is open in Thursdays as well) The people who works here are all survivors of recivery!!!! 👏👏👏 The suggested amount to pay is $15 /plate & anything beyond this is put together & shared between all. Our server, Amanda, was AMAZING!!! She suggested my husband's breakfast & she was absolutely correct in her choice. You definitely get enough food & the taste....WOW!!!Probably one of the BEST tasting food places we have had since moving to San Antonio last year. Great cause. Great food. Great PEOPLE!!! we will be back for sure. We did talk to other patrons & was told on Sundays, plan on waiting. FYI
INCREDIBLE!!! Wow 😍 This place is the place to go, they are founded for a nonprofit, I just love a give back story. 💗 When you first walk in the atmosphere is welcoming and full of comfort (just like their name). The service was kind, informative of then selection and even took my name. I feel like this made it way more personable and comforting. The food, 🥘 oh my! Can’t go wrong probably with anything. I had the chocolate chip pancakes drizzled with powdered sugar and mini chocolate chips. 🍫 🥞 The pancakes were so fluffy it was like a fresh baked homemade cake! 😋 yum! The server offered the hash brown casserole and let me tell you I am so glad he did! He even added the bacon crumbles 🥓 on top! I must say 🤫 they were better than my used to be fave… they start with a C and a B🛢️. The ba
On the weekends, be sure to get on the waitlist via Yelp! Does get busy. While you are waiting can go across parking lot to their Sweet Serenity coffee shop. Cash only (ATM on prem). No prices marked, all donations. This restaurant helps folks who need it, the food is good, so win win. We usually tip really well. But big food portions, both breakfast and lunch options. Always well prepared. Always served by the nicest folks. Very clean, kinda loud, so bring the family. Eclectic decorations, every table different and different height, but bright and cheerful with lots of windows. In a strip mall so easy parking. Food prepared to order from scratch, so fresh and tasty. Omelettes made the correct way (eggs mixed not stuffed) and great brekkie potatoes. French toast served on cutting board as
