Customer Reviews
This library is always clean and organized. There is coffee for everyone, the staff is super nice and they always have new books every time we go. The children's area is always clean and even the bathroom is always nice. I recommend this library more than any in this area
This library has everything you'd want in a library - good free wifi, quiet space, private desk spaces, clean bathroom. The staff was very friendly and willing to accommodate - my wife and I drive a small school bus renovated into a tiny home and they even allowed us to stay in the parking lot for the night. Printing was easy to do and it was greatly appreciated that we could control the printed setting's - we previously visited a different library that did not give us that access and thus resulted in many mis-prints that we had to pay for! The printing prices when we visited were: $0.15 for one sided black and white $0.20 for double sided black and white We had a great experience here and we would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for library services!
I am a natural gypsy and have lived all over the US - often have said "Libraries saved my life". (Truth) This library is a marvel. Friendly, helpful, above-and-beyond every day. Best place for local info and suggestions for your stay. Even if you're just passing through (from where?!) there is an on-going, ever changing, book and DVD "sale" (donation) that you can peruse ...also donate things you're done with. It's a pure blessing.
Original review: Sun 09 January 2022. 5 stars. The Library in the Village of Columbus, NM is a rare jewel in this Magical Land of Nada (as in: Notta thing going on here, not even a traffic light). Staffed by Maria, Rosario & Maggie & sundry village geriatric volunteers (including Gordon, who puts in hundreds of hours a year doing whatever is asked of him), I doubt that you will find a more pleasant & helpful group serving the public anywhere else in the USA. It is sparkling clean, stocked with beverages & snacks if you are feeling a bit hungry, has a perpetual gigantic selection of used books for sale, usually priced at 25¢ to a dollar. A great central community room with comfortable furniture and tables is available for just hanging out or for small groups to reserve for meetings, free
My favorite place in this town. Great collection of books, and friendly staff. Restroom is always clean, coffee is always hot, and plenty of room to sit.
