Coffeyville Public Library

I don’t often post reviews, especially of libraries. Matter of fact, this is my first ever review of a library. It was also my first ever visit to the Coffeyville library. I was there to research ancestors in their genealogy room. The room itself is quiet nice and has an extensive collection. So 5 stars for that fact. However, shortly after making some copies of information on my ancestors, a woman, or should I say woman child, stormed into the genealogy room. I’m not sure of her name because the first thing out of her mouth was, “did you just tug on it until it opened?” She was referring to a cabinet of apparently restricted books. Beautiful library! The staff was incredibly helpful!

This has got the be the CLEANEST library I’ve ever been inside. Props to whoever is keeping up with this massive building. Besides that, super friendly staff and they do tons of events for kids. Can’t go wrong stopping by.

I really love the kids library. My son and I go once a week. The ladies are very friendly and very helpful. They have a big variety of toys. Computers with age appropriate games. I would definitely refer people to the child library.

When did the library start renivung services. I can't believe it is closed on Saturday. That is the only time many people have to visit as working full time adults and families are often unable to go during the week. Honestly the library used to be a great center for the public but since the previous director left it has turned a bad direction. Never see that they have programs for the community and very few for kids . The roof looks terrible and has for months. The few times I have been in there seems to be only 1-2 who know or care what is happening and that doesn't include the director. I am a huge supporter of libraries in general but wonder why the service has tanked since KATIE left. Now I understand why the city is wary of raising the levy, what or where is the money being used?
