Just had dinner at Cocos Ramen. I got the Tonkotsu Ramen, Chicken Yakitori, and a Philly Roll. The Chicken Yakitori was really good — juicy, not overcooked, super solid. The Philly Roll was about a 4/5 for me. In a few pieces it felt like there was barely any Philadelphia cheese — you can even see it in the photos — but the fish itself was great and overall the roll still tasted good. The Tonkotsu Ramen was also a 4/5. The broth felt a little light for my taste, almost a bit watery — not in a bad way, just not as rich as I usually expect. Still tasty, just not a perfect 5 out of 5 for me this time. But overall, really enjoyed it. Great service, super friendly staff, cozy and authentic vibe. Overall — 5/5.
Tenzen was amazing! We really enjoyed talking to him and most importantly the food was amazing, very fresh. He also recommended great sake to go along with it. I’ll definitely come back again.
We went to Coco's Ramen on a Friday afternoon, and the place was completely empty...not sure if that’s a good sign. The waiter/owner was very nice and polite. We both got the Chashu ramen, but unfortunately, the “meat” was mostly fat with very little actual meat. The ramen itself was mediocre, nothing to rave about, but also nothing really to criticize.
The food, the vibe, and especially Tenzin the chef were all amazing. This was more of an experience paired with a dinner as opposed to just food. The omakase was so good that I've made plans to come back in two days. The service is top-tier friendly and the energy of the place is extremely inviting. Would HIGHLY recommend you to visit. Also, the sake collection is great. This place bumped up to my favorite restaurant in the city.
Pretty great little local spot! Not too crowded on a weekday (I was early and my date was late and yet the staff didn't get annoyed I was hogging a table since some were still open). Cozy Japanese decor (albeit slightly uncomfortable seating). Friendly but not harassing staff. Decent food and a wider selection of drinks than I'd expect. Amazing presentation of food. Overall a decent spot, and I hope to one day try their ramen since that's their namesake!
