The full order of the scallion pancakes actually include 2x much as the photo and came as the second batch. Large portion. It’s close to Taiwanese style. Free vegetable soup is similar to some Taiwanese self-helping restaurants. Parking has to be across the street. Food came fast and it’s a cozy little cafe.
Rating: 3.8/5 [dine in] Took about 15 minutes to order and get our food, and another 15 minutes to eat. They give you a table number and have a whole setup to the right of the ordering counter with condiments, utensils, soup, water, etc. They offer complimentary vegetable soup if you order food and dine in. The soup was actually pretty good--great for sipping on between bites of fatty or fried food. Chicken Nuggets ($8.95): Crispy, Taiwanese-style fried chicken nuggets seasoned with salt, pepper, and fresh Thai basil, served with sweet chili sauce. Tasted pretty authentic, but the portion size was on the smaller side. The nuggets were a good size with a perfectly crispy coating and juicy chicken inside. They also gave a generous amount of fried Thai basil, which paired perfectly with the
Coco, a cozy joint, has become a regular spot for me. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Surprisingly, it’s never as crowded as I’d expect, considering its proximity to UT’s campus. It’s a great place to warm up with a bowl of soup. I’ve tried various items on their menu, and each one has been a delightful surprise. And of course, no meal is complete without a refreshing boba! Give Coco a try!
I got the pepper steak and rice. It was the perfect warm meal for a rare chilly afternoon. The meat was tender and the sauce was so savory. I got my boba half sweet and that was perfect! My friend got the pork belly with rice. The pork was so juicy and the greens had a nice acidity. The eggs were a little overdone and confused the texture. The space is a little small but we had found a seat at the shared high table with no problem. I’ll definitely be back!
So many memories are created here. Love coming back here when in Austin. 🤘 Friendly and fast service. Great drink selections, and they are all very delicious (not too icy and watery). My favorite is Peppercorn Chicken with Rice. It's very crispy but not too oily, perfect with pickled vegetables. Yum!
