I am a big fan of tacos I tried them all over the city of Des Moines and surrounding areas. This place probably has the best tacos. It's typical little Mexican restaurant but overall very good. The tamale was outstanding. The best I've had around anywhere in the city of Des Moines or surrounding areas also. I've been there several times it's generally very good the people are nice I will return.

Perfect dinner. Service was spot on, atmosphere was inviting and casual, and the food was delicious!!! Small town food, great portions, with a small town price.

In town for a Family Reunion and staying at the Microtel near…was the BEST Mexican food we’ve had in a long time! The Mango Margaritas were to die for!!! Service was excellent and prompt. I would highly recommend to any and all!!!

We were in town for the llama show and walked in and there were no workers to seat us. We had to walk up to the register/kitchen to ask if we were supposed to seat ourselves. Then about 5 minutes later the lady brought us menus and there was dried food stuck to them. She asked if we wanted guacamole with our chips (we said yes) but that wasn’t brought to our table until about 15 minutes later when we were done with our chips. In that time she got our drink orders in but those didn't come for another 15 minutes and the margarita tasted like it had zero tequila in it- and the strawberry tasted generic. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE! this was our first time here, had the guacamole shrimp. *Pictured* and it was absolutely delicious. The colors of the dish were simple, and bright. All fresh ingredients, the avacados were ripe as ever. Green and full of flavor. Shrimp wasn't over cook and rubbery, like most other restaurants we've tried. Definitely will be coming back
