Cocina & Cantina Mexican Restaurant

This little restaurant is a great place for a quick bite! When I arrived during lunch it was a little slow but the servers were quick and friendly. I was greeted and brought salsa and chips immediately and it was a great snack to tide myself over while I looked the menu over. I ordered the carnitas ultimate chimmy changa, the sauce was spicy and flavorful. The only complaint I have was that the carnitas was slightly overcooked and the chips for salsa were also overcooked. Im sure this was a one time problem and look forward to eating here again!

I have been wanting to try this place for a while. Well today was the day. Atmosphere is nice and they have a patio that opens in the warmer weather. We were sat in a nice booth which is always the best. The have a nice bar selection and coke products. I had a wild berry margarita and my husband had a beer. Chips and salsa were very good. We wanted to try the street tacos so we ordered a steak, a chicken, and a fish taco. They were really good and they didn't skimp on the shrimp. We then ordered steak chimmichangas. The green chili was delicious. The steak came with beans inside too. It was good but unexpected. We did order more then we could eat, but we boxed up the left overs and saved room for desert . At it’s core is delicious. On the surface you’d think it was just a bar with food served. But the thing is, you get the feeling you are in Mexico City, well, just outside of town a bit. The decorations aren’t decoration but part of the environment. Not sure this place could be anything else at this point. And that’s how the food comes to you- cooked like it’s made in my friends moms kitchen. Cooked just like you’d want!

Just sharing my honest opinion. My girl and I just went for the first time. The look of the building is what drew us in. Giving us the impression of a good place to eat. Upon arrival and after being seated, it was 20+ minutes before we were seen by a server for anything to drink or eat. No napkins. No water. Nothing. After reading the reviews this seems to be a common experience amongst customers. I over heard the table next to us having the same problem only it was at the end of their experience. They had been waiting for the same amount of time we were there just for their check and a to go box. Once we finally ordered and got the process going, the food did at least come out quickly. We did not have to have to wait as long for the food. However, we were not very satisfied with the food

went at 11:15.great service and the best margarita I have ever had there..our server was great. Why don't happy hour MARGS taste as good as what we just had..happy hour margaritas should be consistent with regular house MARGS which clearly they are not..don't rip your customers off..thank you
